Bowling Greens

We offer three excellent grass greens and cater for all types of bowlers such as:

  • those wanting competitive games including pennants.
  • those who enjoy social games with a friendly group of bowlers.
  • those who want to have a fun game of social (even barefoot) bowls with a BBQ etc.

For corporate, community or sporting club functions combining a game of bowls with the exclusive use of our excellent club house which can normally handle around 150 people (see our section on venue hire). We can arrange the loan of bowls and assist with coaching where required at no cost.

Interclub Competition

NSW bowls is divided into 16 zones. Seaforth Bowling Club is in Zone 9.

The main competition we play in is Pennants starting in February.  Ladies play pennants on week day mornings over 2 months, while the men play Pennants on Saturday afternoons for 3 months.   Men also play Mid-Week Triples in August.  All full members can participate in Zone and State Championships.   Most clubs in our zone have open carnivals and some specifically invite us to club level competitions.  The Balforth Shield is a friendly rivalry played between our neighbouring club Balgowlah and Seaforth.  Other invitations come from Mosman and Lindfield clubs each year.

Club Championships

Championship events run sequentially throughout the club year.

Events are: Major Singles, Major Pairs, Club Triples, and Club Fours.

Restricted events: Minor Singles, Minor Pairs, Rookie Singles, and Rookie Pairs.

Some Championships are Open Gender and both Rookie events are mixed.  Another mixed event we enjoy is Handicap Pairs.

Carnival days

Seaforth Men’s Bowling Club normally holds three Carnival Days each year under the banner “Seafood at Seaforth”.  It is a popular event open to men and women from all clubs.  It includes morning and afternoon “triples” games separated by a baked salmon or ham salad  lunch.  Prizes are Seafood trays and or cash.
